Specialist in economics, and in Spanish and EU competition law.

Carlos Alberto Ruiz advises national and international companies on competition law, including horizontal and vertical agreements, concentrations and joint ventures, and abuse of dominant position. He also represents companies in antitrust proceedings with competition authorities and in jurisdictional appeals in the courts.

Previously, he worked at the Catalonian competition authority, handling disciplinary proceedings and analyzing legislative proposals.

From 2006 to 2010, he was a pre-doctoral researcher at the Private Law Department, Universitat Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona.

Since 2016, he has been lecturing on competition law in the Master in International Business Law at ESADE-Universidad Ramon Lull, Barcelona.

He is a member of the Barcelona Bar Association.
