Francisco Soares Machado

Between 2015 and 2018,  Francisco Soares Machado worked as an advisor to the Vice-President of the European Investment Bank in Luxembourg. Previously, between 2012 and 2015, he was an advisor in the cabinet of the Minister of Finance in the Portuguese Government, where he worked on financial stability and banking regulation matters.

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association.

Solicitor in England and Wales. Member of the Law Society of England and Wales.

Former member of the Legal Committee of the Portuguese Corporate Governance Institute and member of the Governance Lab think tank.

Lecturer at postgraduate programmes on banking and investment services in Lisbon Law School.

Author of several articles and publications on banking and corporate finance matters, including "Effective Creditor Protection in Private Companies: Mandatory Minimum Capital Rules or Ex Post protection?”, "Acções sem valor nominal: a sua emissão a um valor de emissão inferior ao das acções anteriormente emitidas”, “A Proposta de Reforma da Supervisão Financeira em Portugal” and “A Administração de Instituições de pagamento”.
