Javier Martínez specializes in complex lawsuits involving civil contractual and non-contractual liability, insurance and reinsurance agreements, defective product liability, professional civil liability and mass damages claims.
He focuses his practice on the insurance and reinsurance sector, including advising on insurance coverage disputes, subrogation actions, D&O policies, reinsurance disputes and all kinds of industrial claims.
He also advises on disputes arising over construction and real estate law, particularly in relation to the infrastructure sector.
Before joining Cuatrecasas, he worked at other top-level national and international law firms.
He lectures on the Insurance Market Law and Civil and Commercial Litigation subjects on the Master's Degree for Access to the Legal Profession at UPF Barcelona School of Management.
He speaks regularly on courses and at training seminars organized by different institutions and business schools, and has participated in different editions of the Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition.
He is a member of the Spanish Association of Lawyers Specialized in Civil Liability and Insurance Law, of the Spanish Association of Young Insurance Experts, and of the Barcelona Bar Association.
