Expert in different areas of competition law, particularly focusing on restrictive practices, antitrust, merger control, litigation, compliance and state aid.

Between 2013 and 2019, Pedro Marques Bom was director-general of investigation at the Portuguese Competition Authority (“AdC”), overseeing the AdC's operations, particularly in relation to the departments for investigation into restrictive practices, merger control and litigation. He worked as a lawyer at PLMJ Law Firm (2008-2013), as advisor to the board of the AdC (2007-2008), director of the Competition Department at the Portuguese Health Regulation Authority (2006-2007), legal officer at the AdC's Merger Control Department (2003-2006), and as a lawyer in private practice (1999 and 2003).

Member of the Portuguese Bar Association, the Association of Portuguese Competition Lawyers (CAPDC) and the Portuguese European Law Association (APDE).

He regularly participates as a guest speaker at conferences, and undergraduate and postgraduate courses on competition law and economics in Portugal and abroad. His work has been published in specialized books and journals nationally and internationally.
