Etermar Perú enters into EPC contract to carry out Kutuctay Bridge creation project
July 26, 2022
Cuatrecasas advised Etermar - Engenharia y Construção S.A. Sucursal Perú on awarding, negotiating and signing an EPC contract for over 40 million Peruvian soles (US$10.2 million) to develop and carry out the Kutuctay Bridge and Access creation project in the province of Cotabambas, Apurímac.

Etermar, a European leader in the engineering and construction sector, internationally recognized for its experience in maritime and hydraulic works, began its operations in Peru in 2017. Since then, it has worked on benchmark infrastructure projects around the country.

With this transaction, the company successfully closes its first EPC contract with one of the largest mining companies in Peru.  As a result, it will carry out a large-scale project generating significant exposure in the market that will, in turn, create a positive social impact in the corresponding catchment areas.

Aldo Reggiardo, partner in the Finance Practice, comments on the transaction: “We are very pleased to have advised Etermar on signing the EPC contract to carry out the Kutuctay Bridge project for an amount over 40 million soles.” He adds: “The project will be carried out according to the works system involving tax concessions and will be financed by Minera Las Bambas SAC, one of the world’s main mining companies. This system enables important public infrastructure works to be carried out with financing and development by private companies.”

The Cuatrecasas team advising on the transaction was made up of lawyers Aldo Reggiardo and Alejandro Zorrilla.
