Termotasajero secures strategic financing for Colombian energy sector

Cuatrecasas has advised Termotasajero—an electric power generation and marketing company—on the structuring, negotiation, and closing of a COP 600 billion refinancing agreement, which will allow it to strengthen its financial position and further its expansion plan in the Colombian energy market.

This transaction is one of the most noteworthy refinancing loans in the Colombian energy sector in the past year. The funds obtained will allow Termotasajero's thermal power plants, located in the municipality of San Cayetano (Norte de Santander), with an installed capacity of 345.2 MW, to continue serving as a strategic pillar for the reliability and security of the country's energy system. This will benefit nearly one million households and generate direct and indirect jobs for approximately 6,000 people.
