SubscribeCuatrecasas has advised ZEmobility Sevillana on securing a COP 142.819 billion loan from Bancolombia, which served as lead structuring bank. The financing will fund a new electric fleet and related charging infrastructure for Bogotá’s Integrated Public Transport System (SITP).
The innovative financing structure will enable the company to add 114 electric buses, which transport operator ETIB will operate. The fleet will improve connectivity for Bogotá residents and air quality by reducing annual CO2 emissions by 6,677 metric tons.
“We applaud ZEmobility and Bancolombia for advancing electric and sustainable mobility in Bogotá. These transactions show that innovative financial structures can accelerate clean technology adoption and address the city’s needs, with a positive impact on residents’ quality of life,” said Juan Carlos Puentes, a Cuatrecasas Finance partner.
ZEmobility operates in several Latin American countries. Its investment and management platform deploys electric fleets and charging infrastructure under long-term concession arrangements. The company currently has over 5,200 buses operating in the region.
The Cuatrecasas team advising on the transaction was led by Juan Carlos Puentes and made up of lawyers Angie Gómez, Daniel Salazar, and Cristina Ferrero (Finance); Jaime Vargas, José Manuel Jaramillo, and Pablo Ortega (Tax); and Natalia Villamizar and Juan David Castellanos (Corporate).
