Álvaro Luna specializes in advising on, drafting and filing extraordinary appeals before the Spanish Supreme Court. He has extensive experience in Spanish and international commercial litigation, focusing on contracts, complex tort cases, medical malpractice and product liability, consumer protection and insurance.

He is a doctor of laws, lawyer and an associate professor at Universitat Pompeu Fabra (Barcelona) since 1999 where he lectures on private law (torts and contracts).

He also lectures on contract law and international contract law in the Master on Business Law at the Barcelona Bar Association, and in the Master on International Business Law at the OBS Business School. He frequently speaks on his specialty areas at conferences, courses and seminars.

He is a visiting scholar at Max-Planck-Institut für ausländisches und internationales Privatrecht (Hamburg, Germany) and Cornell Law School (Ithaca, New York).

From 1999 to 2005, he was an editorial staff member of InDret (www.indret.com), a law review for the interdisciplinary study of law. He is the author and co-author of several monographs and legal articles.
