We assist our clients with the transition towards decarbonization and the integration of environmental criteria in their activity. Internally, we are committed to achieving net-zero emissions in 2030.

Cuatrecasas accepts and acknowledges (i) the responsibility to proactively manage the impact of its activity on the environment, and minimize and mitigate the adverse effects; and (ii) the role its services play in fighting climate change and in the transition toward a sustainable economy.
We fulfill these commitments by applying basic principles that govern our internal activity and our legal services, as set out in the Cuatrecasas Environmental Policy.

The firm commits to reducing its GHG emissions and offsetting the emissions not reduced to achieve net zero by 2030.
We measure our carbon footprint according to the specifications in ISO 14064-1:2019, which apply to the whole organization. Acces our 2022-2024 gas emissions report here
Every year, we verify our carbon footprint through an external, accredited body, and then register our global footprint with the Ministry for Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge (“MITECO”).
The electricity consumed in the Cuatrecasas offices in Spain and Lisbon comes from renewable sources.
In addition, 81% of our office space is LEED or BREEAM certified.

Our policy on purchasing and on management of the global supply chain has transformed our supply chain management system, which covers several areas: (i) a uniform governance framework for purchasing decisions, (ii) coherent purchasing conditions with the objective of reducing our carbon footprint, (iii) a code of conduct for suppliers, and (iv) a system of collaboration and supervision to ensure compliance with the policy and which guarantees respect for human rights and the minimization of the environmental impacts in our supply chain.

Paperless plan with measures to reduce consumption and FollowMe configuration to reduce printing.
Investment plan for IT devices and programs that foment digitalization, such as the use of two screens.
Digitalization of procedures involving high consumption of paper by using electronic billing and digital signatures.

In our Madrid and Barcelona offices, the team heads are informed at the end of the week of the number of printouts made.

Regular study of environmental conditions in offices: temperature, carbon dioxide and relative humidity.

Creation of an internal waste management plan, with updated signage in all our offices to assist with the separation of waste according to type.

Elimination of plastic from all offices: substitution of plastic bottles and tableware for other reusable, recyclable and biodegradable materials. Use of returnable glass water bottles.
Use of 100% biodegradable tableware in our Madrid, Barcelona and London canteens.
