Cuatrecasas has advised Exolum on the structuring and implementation of the project financing for construction of the new fuel plant at Jorge Chávaz Lima International Airport (Peru).

The financing of USD 90 million granted by BBVA and Santander Bank is subject to Spanish law, while the guarantee package and trust are governed by Peruvian law.

“The transaction has been particularly complex because it is not a project finance that directly depends on a concession agreement, which is the standard structure in Peru. It has been a pleasure to contribute to the expansion of the country's most important airport infrastructure,” said Aldo Reggiardo, the partner who led our Lima team on the financing.

Our partner Carlos Lasarte, who headed our Madrid team added: “This has been a particularly interesting transaction due to the type of asset financed and it being subject to both jurisdictions. This has allowed us to offer our client comprehensive support with a team of Peruvian and Spanish lawyers from our Lima and Madrid offices.”

The Cuatrecasas advisory team included lawyers Juan González Barredo and Miguel Gonzalo, from Madrid, and Alejandro Zorrilla, Angélica Congrains, Valeria Abarca and Vasco Mariátegui, from Lima.
