Private projects must respect principles of fairness and equity
The concepts of justice and equity in relation to indigenous and Afro-Mexican peoples and communities have become relevant for the private sector, as they are now recognized as principles both at the constitutional level and in current and developing legislation. The reform to Article 2 of the Constitution represents a paradigm shift, since certain projects that require administrative authorizations must incorporate consultation mechanisms and, if applicable, benefits for the communities. It is therefore essential to reflect on the scope and content of these concepts.
