Cuatrecasas advised Bancolombia S.A., as the leading structuring bank and sole financier, on refinancing the social infrastructure project of the new headquarters of the Attorney General’s Office in Cali, Colombia, for the value of COP 367.5 billion.

This new attorney general’s bunker is a 16-story, 49,000-square-meter modern infrastructure concentrating the offer of administrative services in the capital city of the Cauca Valley, enhancing access to justice and security in the region, and in turn leading to social wellbeing and urban development.

Juan Carlos Puentes, Finance partner at Cuatrecasas, said the following about this transaction: “We are honored to have participated in this refinancing, which boosts social development in Cali and supports a state-of-the-art infrastructure through a stable and sustainable financial solution, which also has an impact on the region’s economic development.”

The project, a state-of-the-art infrastructure, developed under the public-private partnership model by the concessionaire Nueva Fiscalía S.A.S. and administered by SP Ingenieros, is currently making progress in the process for LEED BD+C certification, proof of the sustainability and environmental efficiency planning behind this infrastructure.

The Cuatrecasas team providing the advice was led by Juan Carlos Puentes, with lawyers Catalina Herrera, Daniel Salazar, Daniel Valderrama, Pablo Amorocho, María Garavito and Susana Liévano (Finance) participating.
