On Tuesday, June 17, REDI Portugal (Corporate Network for Diversity and LGBTI Inclusion) was officially presented at an inaugural event held in the Cuatrecasas Lisbon auditorium, during EuroPride 2025 Lisbon. This marks a historic milestone: the establishment and implementation of the first corporate network to promote and foster diversity and LGBTI+ inclusion in the workplace.

During the event, companies, professionals and institutional representatives discussed the relevance of diversity in leadership and business culture, and also the challenges and opportunities posed when creating safe, inclusive work environments.

Nuno Sá Carvalho, managing partner of Cuatrecasas in Portugal, opened the conference with a welcome speech in which he reaffirmed Cuatrecasas’s commitment to fostering inclusive practices in the workplace.

Next, Diego Pol, partner at Cuatrecasas and secretary-general of REDI Spain, shared REDI Spain’s experience and the work it develops. João Mattamouros Resende, also a partner at Cuatrecasas and president of REDI Portugal, highlighted the association’s values and goals. Subsequently, Luís Castanheira Lopes, director of the Pestana Group and chief sustainability officer, participated as the keynote speaker.

Then, Catarina Marques Rodrigues, a journalist specializing in gender issues and social inequality, moderated a round table on “The importance of diversity in leadership and business culture.” A prestigious panel of speakers took part: Fernando Costal Carinhas, head of legal real estate at PwC Portugal; Joana Leitão Lemos, people experience manager for the Ageas Portugal Group; Miguel Tolentino, head of people at Sonae; Pedro Henriques, P&O leader at Siemens; and Susana Silva, HR director at El Corte Inglés.

During the event, membership diplomas were presented to associated companies in recognition of their commitment to creating equitable and respectful environments. REDI Portugal consultant Ricardo Grilo closed the session, which was followed by a cocktail reception.

Cuatrecasas provided pro bono legal assistance and played a key role in formalizing REDI Portugal thanks to the impetus and collaboration of its lawyers João Mattamouros Resende, Maria Raquel Moreira, Lucas Battistello Espindola and Tomás Roxo. This driving force reaffirms the firm’s commitment to promoting an inclusive and equitable professional environment.

REDI Portugal, with 24 founding companies, is an important benchmark in corporate inclusion, with a mission to ensure environments that are unbiased and free from stereotypes, and to continue to spread its positive impact.
