SubscribeCuatrecasas has advised Pitchwise Holdings on its acquisition of a significant stake in Valencia CF. Pitchwise is an investment fund focused on long-term investment in football clubs and their sustainable growth.
Pitchwise has reached an agreement with Valencia CF and its majority shareholder, Meriton Holdings, to become a long-term shareholder. It will provide substantial financial support to the club in the short and medium term. Completion of the investment remains subject to certain conditions precedent. These include securing the relevant investment control approvals, and authorization from Spain’s National Sports Council.
The legal team advising on the transaction was led by Corporate lawyers Javier Villasante and Marta Máñez, with the support of Roberto Álvarez, from the Sports Group; Fernando Bernad, from Finance; Juan Grima, from Real Estate; Esteban Flores, from Town Planning; Valentín García, from Labor; Antonio Pipó, from Litigation; and Enrique Carrera, from Competition. Corporate lawyers Miguel Ángel Castaño and Mikel Puente also participated in the transaction.
