Cuatrecasas advised Vitol on the sale of 100% of the shares in VGMobility Colombia S.A.S. and VGMobility Chile SpA, including their subsidiaries.

Vitol established VGMobility in 2020 to develop electric mobility solutions in Latin America. The company focuses on electric bus fleets and charging infrastructure under long-term concession agreements. It has developed five strategic projects in Colombia and Chile and operates a fleet of more than 2,600 buses, transporting 250 million passengers each year, helping to reduce pollution in the cities where it operates and improving quality of life for local residents.

Felipe Mariño, Corporate - M&A partner at Cuatrecasas, said: "We are proud to have advised Vitol on the sale of VGMobility in Colombia and Chile. The transaction is part of Vitol’s overall strategy of developing these types of platforms until they reach maturity, opening the door to new investment opportunities in this sector."

The transaction was handled by a multijurisdictional team from Cuatrecasas’s Colombia and Chile offices and coordinated by the firm’s New York office. Led by Felipe Mariño, the team included Natalia Villamizar, Juan David Castellanos, and José Manuel Castillo (Corporate - M&A); Natalia Fernández, and José Daniel Suárez (Competition), from the Bogotá office; and Josefina Yávar, Isabel Cantillana, Martín Dell'Oro, and Yu Yang Zhou (Corporate - M&A), and José Santos Ossa (Public), from the Santiago office.
