SubscribeCuatrecasas has advised Greenalia Biomass Power Curtis-Teixeiro—a subsidiary of Greenalia—on formalizing a financing arrangement with Natixis to refinance the debt of its 150 MW biomass plant in Curtis Teixeiro (A Coruña).
The plant, operational since 2021, is the largest in Galicia and one of the largest in Spain. Its operations provide employment for over 135 people. The plant has the capacity to process over 500,000 tons of logging residues from sustainably managed forest plantations, contributing decisively to forest maintenance and fire prevention.
With the formalization of this financing, the Greenalia Group reinforces its commitment to this technology and improves the terms of its long-term financial debt.
The Cuatrecasas advisory team was made up of lawyers Agustí Cerdá, Íñigo Várez, Guillermo Castellanos and Minerva Nuez, from the Finance Practice. Agustí Cerdá noted: "It has been a pleasure to once again support Greenalia in its ambitious project to boost its business and consolidate its position as one of the key players in promoting renewable energy and the decarbonization of our economy."
