Fundamental rights in labor relations

An international and comparative overview to the impact of privacy, equality or integrity rights in the workplace


The latest and various legal reforms, such as those concerning equality or whistleblowing, among others, together with the evolution of labor relations, have led to a significant increase in labor claims that are accompanied by the typical labor request for compensation for the violation of a fundamental right.

Thus, claims for dismissal, modification of working conditions, or salary are often accompanied by requests for compensation for the violation of the right to equality, privacy, or physical and moral integrity.

We will analyze this trend in the main European jurisdictions through the participation of expert lawyers from the law firms Cuatrecasas (SPA), Chiomenti (ITA), Gide (FRA), and Gleiss Lutz (GER), who are members of the European Network.
